Camacho enters his 3rd year as Catching Coordinator for 5 Tool Players. Born and raised in Garden Grove California; Andrew graduated from Rancho Alamitos High School (’11). Camacho was a 4-year varsity letter winner with two first-team all-league honors and a Defensive Player of the Year award his senior year under coach Greg Pines. Andrew played two years for the Mariners Scout Team under Myron Pines who was one of his mentors and biggest influences on and off the field.
Andrew attended Jarvis Christian University in East Texas and graduated in 2016 with a BA Degree in Business Administration, minoring in Accounting and earning an accumulated 3.60 GPA. Andrew spent a summer playing for the Woodland Strykers in the Texas Collegiate League.
Coach Camacho arrived on the travel ball scene in 2017 while providing private baseball instruction for high school athletes. In 2018 Andrew was appointed a varsity assistant position and catchers coach under Eric Borba at Orange Lutheran HS. Coach Camacho was an intricate part of the Orange Lutheran HS baseball programs run that won three straight NHSI titles in Cary, NC. Later that year Andrew started the California Blues Baseball program that produced over 15 Division I players with 22 players receiving scholarships in the two year existence.
In 2021 Andrew began his tenure at ZT Prospects Baseball Academy as Director of High School Baseball and acting Field Manager. In 2022 Andrew was the Associate Head Coach at Fullerton High School where he helped lead the program to a Freeway League title and a CIFSS and CIF State title game.
Currently Andrew is a baseball consultant, trains high school athletes in group settings, and works with college/professional catchers that are looking to take the next step in their performance.
